   Field Museum of Natural History

   Meet SUE the T. rex and Máximo the titanosaur at this grand natural history museum. Arrive at opening to beat school groups and cover the Egyptian and evolution halls.

2. Late Morning

   Shedd Aquarium

   Next door, the Shedd's beluga whales, sharks, and Amazon exhibits make it one of the world's premier aquariums. A timed ticket helps you skip the longest lines.

   Museum Campus grounds

   Grab a casual lunch on the campus or pack a picnic to enjoy on the lawns, with Lake Michigan on one side and the downtown skyline on the other.

   Adler Planetarium

   Walk out to the Adler on its peninsula for sky shows and space exhibits. The lakeside path here offers arguably the best skyline photograph in all of Chicago.
