One Perfect Day in Las Vegas: The Strip & Beyond

With only one day, stay along the walkable spine of the Strip and its immediate surroundings. Start inside the Bellagio for its Conservatory and famous Fountains, then wander the themed resorts that define the city's over-the-top style. A midday ride on the High Roller observation wheel is the single best way to grasp the scale of the valley and the neon corridor below. Cap the day with skyline views, a taste of old Vegas at the Neon Museum, and a proper Strip dinner before a headline show. Everything here sits within a short walk, a monorail hop, or a quick ride, so you can move at a relaxed pace and still cover the essentials without needing to plan around long transit trips.

Day 01

The Strip, the Wheel & Old Vegas

Las Vegas's greatest hits packed into one walkable, ride-light day along the Boulevard.

  1. Morning

    Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden

    Begin inside the Bellagio at its free Conservatory, a lavish seasonal display of flowers and sculptures, then step outside for the Fountains of Bellagio show. Early morning means thinner crowds and cooler air before the sidewalks fill with visitors.

  2. Late Morning

    The Strip's themed resorts

    Steps north sit the icons of Las Vegas Boulevard. Wander through the canals at The Venetian, the Roman halls of Caesars Palace, and the replica Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas. An hour of strolling covers the highlights without exhaustion.

  3. Lunch

    Proper or a Strip food hall

    Grab a fast, local lunch. Proper Eats Food Hall at ARIA gathers vendors under one roof, or try a classic Las Vegas shrimp cocktail at a nearby counter before your afternoon ride.

  4. Afternoon

    The High Roller at The LINQ

    Board at the LINQ Promenade for the 30-minute rotation on the 550-foot observation wheel. It is the clearest, most enjoyable primer on the city's layout, from the resort towers of the Strip to the mountains ringing the valley.

  5. Late Afternoon

    Neon Museum

    Head just off the Strip to the Neon Boneyard, where restored and rescued signs tell the story of old Las Vegas. Aim for late afternoon so you can stay as the light fades and many of the signs flicker back to life.

  6. Evening

    Strip dinner and a headline show

    Finish with a proper Las Vegas dinner, from a steakhouse to a celebrity-chef room, then catch a show such as a Cirque du Soleil production. Book the show in advance since prime seats sell out, and end the night like a true Las Vegan.
