Five Days in Calgary: Icons, Museums & Neighbourhoods
Five days is enough to see Calgary's icons and still explore the neighbourhoods locals love. The first three days cover the essentials: the downtown core and Bow River, the eastside cluster of the zoo and science centre, and the creative inner-city districts. Days four and five then push southwest to Heritage Park and the Glenmore Reservoir, and west to WinSport's Canada Olympic Park and the riverside parks along the Bow. Along the way you'll sample Alberta beef, ginger beef invented in the city, Vietnamese subs, and celebrated neighbourhood restaurants. Each day stays geographically focused to limit driving time, and the variety, museums, parks, history, sports, and food, captures the full breadth of the city, always with the Rockies on the western horizon.
