Five Days in San Francisco: Icons, Museums & Neighborhoods
Five days is enough to see San Francisco's icons and still explore the neighborhoods locals love. The first three days cover the essentials: downtown and the waterfront, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Presidio, and the museums and gardens of Golden Gate Park. Days four and five then dig into the muralled Mission and the Castro, and loop back to the northern waterfront for Alcatraz and North Beach. Along the way you'll sample cioppino, a Mission burrito, Dungeness crab, and celebrated neighborhood restaurants. Each day stays geographically focused to limit transit time, and the variety, museums, parks, coastline, architecture, and food, captures the full breadth of the city.
